MOO - A Cow Base Solo/Multiplayer TTRPG

Created by Driftforge Games

Moo: A Tabletop Game of Cows, Chaos, and Power You’re a cow. A perfectly ordinary, definitely-not-suspicious cow. Except you can think, you can talk, and you’ve got big plans. In Moo, players take on the role of ambitious bovines trying to escape the farm, blend into human society, and claw their way to political power. The only problem? The Farmer (played by the GM) is watching, suspicion is rising, and your rivals will happily throw you under the tractor if it means they get ahead. Powered by a standard 52-card deck, every draw pushes the story forward with effects for both the cows and the Farmer. Bluff, sabotage, and disguise your way through five tiers of play, from the field, to the city, to the halls of government. You can even attempt the legendary Bovine Ascension if you’re bold enough to risk it. Fast, chaotic, and full of darkly comic flavour, Moo is perfect for one-shots, campaigns, or late-night games fuelled by laughter and a little bit of paranoia. Back it, play it, and find out how far the herd can rise.

Update - MOO TTRPG: A Message from Ermintrude MP
about 2 months ago – Thu, Feb 05, 2026 at 01:25:32 PM

Dearest Gentle Citizens,

The humans have informed me that Moo has now entered its final phase of revisions and playtesting. This means frantic note-taking, intense staring at the rulebook, and the occasional whispered argument about balance. I am assured this is all perfectly normal!

Furthermore, we have received the test pack for the playing cards, and I feel it is my civic duty to report that they are fantastic. Crisp, sturdy, and eminently suitable for both sabotage and light intimidation. I approve. (Images Below)

Once this final round of playtesting concludes, the completed PDF will be sent to our counterparts at Critical Kit for publishing. From there, the path is clear. Printing. Distribution. Influence. Power.

World domination is not far away now.
Hypothetically.
Legally speaking.

Remain vigilant. Remain loyal. And above all, remain inconspicuous.

With warm regards and a steady hoof,
Ermintrude MP

Campaign Update from the Office of Ermintrude MP
4 months ago – Mon, Dec 15, 2025 at 12:38:29 AM

Citizens,

I bring news. The humans at Driftforge have informed me, with excessive enthusiasm, I might add, that Moo is currently undergoing another proofreading phase. They are checking every word, every hoofnote and every ridiculous chart. Naturally, I insisted on reviewing several paragraphs myself, though my red pen was ignored. Typical.

Following this, the game will be subjected to one last round of playtesting, during which the humans will attempt to sabotage my political ambitions under the guise of “balancing mechanics.” I shall be watching them closely.

Once that’s complete, they’ll be locking in the print schedule. Let it be known: Moo is almost ready.

Keep your ears perked for more news soon. The campaign is nearly upon us.

With firm hoof and unwavering gaze

Campaign Update and An Invitation from the Office of Ermintrude MP
6 months ago – Thu, Oct 02, 2025 at 11:47:13 AM

Citizens,

It has come to my attention that Driftforge has opened an official Discord server, and naturally, I, Ermintrude MP, have decided to make it the headquarters of my campaign for… general leadership. Of everything.

This is where the true herd will gather. You’ll find chatter about Moo, The Catalogue of Chaos, The Jeff Paradox, The Blood Paradox, and whatever other schemes the humans at Driftforge are scribbling down. You may share cursed ideas, campaign theories, and yes, even memes… though I will personally review all memes for subversive bovine content.

Here is your official invitation:

A brief campaign update while I have your attention: the humans have been running Moo through playtests, gathering feedback, and scribbling amendments into their notebooks (most of which I’ve approved, reluctantly). The result is a sharper, sillier, and more treacherous game than ever.

Surveys will be going out soon, so keep a close watch on what the humans send you.

Inside the Discord you’ll also gain access to sneak peeks, playtesting calls, updates, and far too many jokes at my expense. It is, however, the best way to stay informed on the campaign, and I strongly advise you to join. After all, history is made by those who moo-ve first.

I look forward to your presence in the server. With regards,

Ermintrude MP

A big thank you!

Thank you all for pushing Moo this far already. It means we can make the book the way we want to, and it gives us the best excuse yet to keep writing daft cow puns until the end of time.

If you’ve backed already, you’re a hero. If you haven’t yet, you can still join the herd! But don’t let the farmer see!

Let’s see just how far the cows can climb in the last few hours!

Moove Over... We’ve Funded - The Herd Has Spoken!
8 months ago – Thu, Aug 07, 2025 at 03:17:53 PM

Hey, - We did it! Moo has officially funded on BackerKit and it’s all thanks to you.

We honestly can’t thank you enough. Now we start preparing a herd of campaign extras and upgrades.

But here’s the thing: we’re not done yet. Every pledge now helps us unlock stretch goals new scenarios, more art, extra digital bits and a few upgrades we’ve been keeping in reserve. The weirder things get, the better Moo will be for everyone.

So, if you want to help push this campaign even further, now’s the time to:
  • Tell your gaming group about Moo (cow puns optional, but encouraged)
  • Share the campaign link on your socials, or shout it from an actual field (bonus points for video evidence)
  • Keep an eye out for updates as we reveal what’s next

Thank you again for backing something this ridiculous. We genuinely couldn’t do it without you.

Stay chaotic,
James
